An interview With Steve Stokes of Wales Air Ambulance

Q: Hi Steve. Thanks for taking the time out for a chat. How has this current crisis affected your ability to attend incidents?

A: WAA is part of the Welsh strategic response to the pandemic and attends incidents as normal, whether Covid 19 related or not. It must be remembered that our aim is not just to transport casualties but to get hospital standard equipment, highly skilled consultants and critical care staff to an incident as quickly as possible. It is in effect like taking the hospital to the patient. As Wales has such a rural landscape our input is a huge advantage compared to travelling to an incident by road. Read More

IPS Challenge Contenders Nominate Overseas Events

Whilst many of us are digging out our Winter woollies and wet weather gear for the annual pilgrimage to Clonakilty for the West Cork Rally, Challenge Contenders Tom Coughtrie and Ian Fraser have slightly more exotic plans. Launch of the 2020 IPS Paint Rally Challenge

Directors Dom Thomas, Joe Thomas and Stephanie White were welcomed in December by Steffan Anderson-Thomas of Wales Air Ambulance for the official launch of the 2020 IPS Paint Rally Challenge.

Also at the Dafen Headquarters were newly crowned Triple Champion Will Mains from Llandysul and Swansea Valley youngster Rhys Stoneman who has taken both the 2019 Overall and Junior Co-drivers Rally Challenge titles.’ Read More
